An Binh Hotel

Stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe double room, 350.000 the night. Standard rooms 250.000, also amazingly big rooms with private bathroom, everything incredibly clean and confortable beds. But in the deluxe room besides all of that we had a balcony with amazing views of the river! Beautiful garden with seats, hammock...right next to the river! Perfect place to relax and enjoy the views in a more local atmosphere avoiding the tourist crowds of downtown. Also, very friendly staff! Close to the pier were taking the boats to visit the Cai Riang floating market (you can take a private boat 150.000 for a visit of 30 min, which is fairly enough). They also offer tours in the hotel although we visited around and the floating markets independently. Excellent!!!

Despite the name, this is not a hotel. It's a family compound that rents rooms to travelers. The owner is not interested in the guests, and when the (only?) maid is sick, no one steps in to take her place. No one is at the front desk most of the time. The restaurant doesn't stock food, so you have to order a day or two in advance. The family dogs, most of which live in tiny cages, barked and howled for 5 hours one night, and no one made any attempt to silence them.

This is a very nice hotel, located outside the town of Can Tho, right on the Mekong River. It is a quiet place to relax and do nothing for a while. It is close to the floating market and a boat ride can be arranged at the hotel, but that is about it. The room are great, and some even have a view of the river. I would recommend it to anyone who does not need to be in town
