I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Hanoi on a budget to stay here! My boyfriend and I stayed for only two nights and the reception helped us book the rest of our trips to Halong Bay and Sapa. Moon (the owner) took very good care of us- helped us late at night in booking train tickets, offered us showers before and after our separate trips (even though we weren't staying there any longer) and called taxis whenever we needed them. The breakfast was one of the best we had on our 5 week trip around SEA- individual loaf of toasted bread with eggs. Friendly staff, clean and decent sized rooms, great location... what more could you want?

You get what you pay for here, it being a budget hotel with smallish rooms. The staff are friendly and it was clean so for a couple of nights it can be quite adequate. Would recommend it if you are on a tight budget ,otherwise there are better hotels in Hanoi.

Stayed here twice when it was known as Duc Thai, now renamed as Hanoi City Hostel. Same owner who stays in the hostel. Very good value, 15USD per night for twin room. Stayed for 7 nights (3rd time) Dragon and Hien were very helpful and friendly. One computer for free Internet, free wifi in room. Duong will cooked the eggs the way you prefer, served with bread, butter/jam/cheese, lime juice and/ or coffee/tea (always with a smile) Location is good. It's easy walk to Duan Xuan and the night market (Fri - Sun), plenty of street food, cafe and restaurants nearby. The staff book tours, bus and train ticket for guests as well as non-guest. Advise on places to eat, massage, etc. Will definitely stay here again.
