The worst hostel ever. Room looked nothing like pictures. Forgot to take a photo of the bathroom but it was mould everywhere. It also leaked the entire floor every time we had a shower,potential holes in the pipes. The room was so damp we both got pretty ill!! Our clothes got damps as well as well as damp bed,was awful to sleep there. The management has no idea how to run the hostel. I dont know how they are still open. We paid £14 deposit through Hostel world,when we checked out we got charged this amount AGAIN. When we told the guy we already paid this he called someone and said "oh yra you did pay" (can you not see this on your system? How many more people you scammed?). We got the money back but lost 100k dong due to their exchange rate,which was bad. Its little money to us,but still it's a principal thing. No one wants to be scammed. Also we asked to book us a book to another town for 10am. The guy confirmed its all booked. The morning came,we get a call 7:40am telling us to come down as the bus leaves at 8am. No one has informed us about the time change..... imagine it was our flight and not the bus? Do not book anything with them. The only good things were thr location and nice breakfast. Would not stay there again. Poor management and will take us weeks to cover from the damp....

We've previously stayed in the midst of old quarter so we decided to stay a bit away and found the Little Hanoi Hostel 2 on the map appearing near the Hoan Kiem Lake. We've booked it for two nights right before we fly out of Hanoi. We booked this place last minute. Perfect location along the boulevard, few steps along the road to the hostel, and just beside the lake, cross the charming boulevard and you are on the lake. Wide road, not too busy. Yet, there are places to eat, and walking distance to McDonalds, shops, and the big grocery store Intimex is about 2 minutes walk away, very convenient to buy foodstuff and drinks. The twin room we had is on the third floor, spacious for two persons, has window overlooking the lake, two single beds, cable TV, mini fridge, cabinet, safety deposit box, bathroom with tub. Very comfortable. No elevator though so request a room on lower level if stairs bother you. Lovely staff especially Miss Moon at the reception. We enjoyed our stay! Highly recommended.

Very nice little guesthouse right next to Hoan Kiem lake in the Old Quarter. Room was extremely clean, staff were super friendly, and the simpleincluded breakfast made for a very good value overall. Very nice home base for exploring the neighborhood, and easy to find - no getting lost in the dozens of alleys, for those with a poor sense of direction.
