Phuoc Loc Tho Hotel

I went to Vietnam for two weeks with my partner and all the accomodation EXCEPT this hotel was either satisfactory or wonderful. Our worst experience of accomodation, in the UK or abroad, was most definitely this hotel (if you can call it that.) The room itself was very basic and quite dirty in the bathroom and bedroom area (dust, mould, dirt, hair on bed etc.). The facilities at the hotel are poor and the spa, which was downstairs was very unappealing. The two guys at the counter were very intimidating and unhelpful. The main problem with the hotel? My partner and I went to bed around half past ten and were due to be getting up in the early hours to travel home. However at around 11pm the staff (in the hotel) were making so much noise; stomping around in high heels, chatting, jingling keys, going into bedrooms, ringing different phones around the hotel and so forth. We thought it was other guests at first, but my partner went into the corridor and witnessed the staff making an unacceptable amount of noise. I am 24 years old and have house shared, stayed in plenty of hotels, hostels etc. so I am well aware of the amount of noise classed as 'reasonable' and this was most definitely not. We tried to sleep but to no avail and would only have had a maximum of 2/3 hours. We visited the reception in the morning and relayed the night we had experienced. We politely worded our disappointment with the hotel and that we do not expect staff to make that much noise. We wanted to speak to the manager which immediately made the receptionist on edge and suddenly unable to understand English. We did however meet the manager who was apparently "in a meeting" in the city, but five minutes later and hey presto, she walked through the hotel. We wanted to inform her of our stay and we were received with hostility and she even went as far as saying she would hold our passports unless we paid for our stay. I will not go into all the details of the conversations but it is safe to say the manager and its staff were not helpful nor apologetic. In short, I would NOT advise staying at this (joke of a) "hotel". We had a 17 hour journey after our stay here and it was a shame our last impression of Vietnam was a bad one; in stark contrast to the rest of our amazing two weeks. Save your money and book somewhere else in Ho Chi Minh!

i and my friend came here by chance when i first went to HCMC and just took a taxi to look for a hotel. outside it looks quite good but inside, the room is too old, the door is difficult to lock. I felt angry every I lock it. the hotel is quite expensive, the manager said 650000 VND for each single room, when i said i need 2 room he made a discount at 600000 VND. although the hotel is not good but i think the staff is very nice. some can speak chinese.

Room is dirty, old tv,blood stain lining,toilet is not flush able, reused soap and shampoo bottles, A lot of traffic because of massage service they have here, free breakfast but have to walk to different hotel to eat. Staffs are friendly. I paid $33 for basic room. Think about it!!!
