Thanh Binh 3 Hotel

Clean and tidy rooms and friendly staff. This is Vietnam and there are big differences between hotels in the city. Most hotels are clean and comfortable. This hotel was comfortable and quiet so the stay was enjoyable.

This hotel is as far from the airport as is District 1, so expect to pay around 100,000 dong ($5USD) for the taxi ride. Unscrupulous drivers will find the path that doubles the fare. Just know your street and tell them to take that street. + Hate the entrance into the lobby because they park a dozen motorcycles across the entry with little space to walk through. Big lobby but useless to guests as they use tables for smoking and employee functions. + no guest-welcoming drinks, sit down, .. Just check in and go to your room. + 3 security guards at all day times. Should I feel safe or unsafe? + wifi on 3rd floor does not work. I asked to have it reset but they argued to many users slowed it down. I said not possible because I can't even log in. They finally reset and it worked, then tells me it happens all the time so they gave up on wifi. + door locks are broken and non functional. Rely on the inside latch to be "safe" at night. + has a hot water heater but doesn't work. In 3 rooms. + security guard has no respect for guest sleep. Cranks up his lobby tv show at 3am. My room is next to lobby desk. + bathroom very dated. Needs much upgrades to be District 1 standards. Shower stall had no door. Mold present. + polite security guards very willing to help you with your bags and calling taxis. + big family room is very nice with 2 queen beds. Though bathroom issues remain the same. + location is not restaurant and shopping friendly compared to district 1.
