Mai Anh Hotel

The rooms look much bigger in the photographs so we found our room to be quite small. Rooms are simple and clean. We didnt like the bathrooms too much... small critters and hot water issues. The staff tried hard to please but could not speak English well. The location is a bit far from the interesting places but getting transport was easy. Try the nearby coffee shop next to the hotel for breakfast.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a twin superior room. The room has a high ceiling, clean beds, nice decor, fridge and a TV with good sports channels although not big or HD. Bathroom was also big and clean and had plenty of freebies in too. The staff here are very friendly and were keen to help us, wether that was with booking a taxi or a Mekong tour. There was a lot of late night building work going on right outside our room but this seems to be everywhere in such a dense overcrowded city. Great location, not in a roudy area but a short walk to the parks, bars and big markets etc Very good value £18 GBP ($26 USD) a night. Would stay again.

Misunderstood that this might be a good place for a night before flying out but really not that close to airport. My mistake . It's actually a real nothing area - furniture stores. District 1 was much more vibrant. Check in was basic in the sense we had to ask re breakfast and wifi info. Told we had to pay for water but booking sheet said 2 bottles free (4 for of us not sufficient). We checked in and went walking . On our return both our rooms on separate floors which didn't previously smell of smoke suddenly stank strongly of cigarette smoke ( had someone been in)? Very basic breaky included but sufficient for our needs. Bed ok. Fridge leaked all over floor. Really noisy street and not a drop of hot water for husband to shave in the morning . Wouldn't recommend.
