Maritime Hotel & Spa

Never been in a 5 Star Hotel without a lift. Very inconvenient and no mention of this in there brochure or web site. Our next door neighbours spent most of their holidaysitting in the reception area due to wife's bad knees. Attempting to book other restaurants was almost impossible and required minimum of 3/4 days in advance. Wine in mini bar in room was awful with no spirits and only soft drinks and beer. The bedrooms were good and service most of the time very slow. After repeated requests over 10 days room telephone could not be used for outgoing calls. Reception were told on 5 times but still not resolved. Beach location lovely but area not suited to people with walking difficulties. Hotel was not 5 Star standard compared to other 5 Star hotels we are used to staying in. 4 Star maybe. Staff were welcoming especially in the dining areas. La Maree restaurant so popular it required booking at least 4 days in advance which meant we could only use it once during the visit.

We booked a room at this hotel because of the published location: 34 Tran Phu street. From previous visits we knew that this address is right in the centre on the beach promenade. Alas, the taxi driver could not find the hotel! As it turned out there is another Tran Phu street at the edge of Nha Trang - and that's where the hotel is! We definitely should not have relied on booking.com - where we were led to by Tripadvisor. Because they, in addition to the location lie, claimed that the hotel has a private beach! There is, however no beach for swimming at all - neither private nor public. And the location makes it impossible to walk to any interesting places - so you have to deal with overcharging taxis all the time... Other lies in the booking.com review were: wooden floor (laminate), bath robes (not available)... The "pool", by the way is only the size of a bigger jacuzzi and only 1m deep. So, with a booking for 5 days we were 100% pissed off! But then, being pragmatic, we decided to see things positive. The remote location also meant that it was more quiet than in the centre. We rented a motorbike and became independent of the location - in fact, were able to go places that most other tourists do not see. And under this aspect the price of the room was quite OK. Another positive aspect is that there are a number of wonderful restaurants and cafés for local people in the area - with excellent seafood and home-made ice creams...(read my reviews on that). In the end the holiday turned out quite pleasant - but entirely different from the one planned! Also keep in mind that the hotel works with Russian tour operators - we did not see any other nationalities in the hotel (only me and my Vietnamese woman).

After a hectic summer, toddler at home and 3 weeks to my next baby we were hoping for a special few days and it didnt disappoint. The room was fantastic with a sea view, v cosy bed and big bathroom. We even had fantastic massages including a pregnancy massage for me by Olive it was perfect and v reasonably priced at €65 for full hour! It was the staff that made our stay so special with all staff being v pleasant.
