Thanh Binh Hotel

We turned up in Ninh Binh late at night with no booking, so were relieved to find this place after several better known hotels were full. The rooms were spacious, with good air conditioning and very quiet as they were on upper floors. Breakfast was extremely good and the hotel arranged an excellent trip to see Trang An, the old capital and an amazing new Buddhist temple. They also let us use the showers and store our luggage before our night train left.

Bad experience : I do not recomend this hotel. We had come directly to the hotel to check in. The receptionist told us he offered us a discount on the price of the room. The next day, we discovered he had cut off our 2 breakfasts. We paid actually more than the normal price as there were no breakfasts. The receptionist would not hear anything and we were disappointed by his inability to negociate, while he had fooled us. The manager eventually got us a little discount.

We arrived after a long motorbike ride and were welcomed at the door. Upon asking about rooms we were advised there were 3 Proces ($15,20 and 25). We asked the see the rooms and turns out there are 2 price brackets of room ($15 and $20) with an additional $5 for breakfast if wanted. We opted for $15 room. Clean with good air conditioning and quiet. The man from front desk helped with bags and also very helpful advising nearby places to eat etc.
