Stayed here for 3 nights in total in different 4th and 5th floor rooms. The hotel is large and in need of a refurbishment . Overall it wasn't too bad. Rooms were spacious, pretty clean, lots of hot water though the poor water pressure made showering in the 1st room tricky. The rooms vary in what works eg my 1st room had very poor aircon, a dodgy shower and a broken tv but the fridge did have complimentary water and juice. My 2nd room had a working tv with an English language movie channel, good aircon and shower but no water or juice. Towels and linen were fine, spare pillows and blankets in the wardrobe, shampoo and soap and free wi-fi in room. The beds were on the hard side. Once the other guests stopped shouting in the corridors it was surprisingly quiet. The lift is picturesque but unreliable. Breakfast was an average Algerian affair, neither the best nor worst. The hotel is well located, there are restaurants and a grocery shop nearby.

For the price you pay you get away less than you expect except for the location and proximity to downtown. This hotel is an ancient building that requires modernization to keep up with the international standard for the price yoy pay.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of a two week tour taken of Northeastern Algeria. As mentioned by other people is dated, but still has some charm. The renovated room on the fifth floor were very good. In contrast, the rooms on the second floor were run down and somewhat dirty and run down
