My wife and I stayed at the Hawksbill recently and it was pretty good overall. The resort appeared to be undergoing some renovations. Unfortunately we didn't get a renovated room but it was very clean and the staff made up for any perceived shortcomings we might have had. I am a little over 6ft and he showers were a bit on the shorter side but they also had an outdoor shower in our room which I made use of and actually was kind of nice showering outside....One other to note if you are staying in the beachside bungalows they do not have TV's in those rooms which may have been an oversight on our part, they did offer us another room but it had double beds and we decided it wasn't that big of a deal. The food also could have been a bit better, not terrible and I do think it is hard to cook for so many different people but we did let them know that it's the Caribbean and people expect flavorful foods! Beach was nice and water crystal clear! It's about a 20 minute ride to town but that's not necessarily a bad thing because at nights it was quiet and you could hear the ocean waves and crickets! LOL! You could stay at a more expensive resort of course but more expensive doesn't always equate to better! I don't know if you would get as good of a service there. We would definitely consider staying there again if the rooms get renovated as the staff really did make our stay a pleasant one.

We had a wonderful vacation at Hawksbill Resort in Antigua. I always read a lot of reviews before we book somewhere so I will try to break it down well in hopes of helping someone else. We've now been to 6 all inclusives and this one shines with customer service and experience.
We traveled at the end of July and it was the off-season. We were with our 19 & 15 year old daughters. The hotel was changing their min age. We were told it was 12 & up, but then the week prior to arrival it said 16 & up and somoene there told us 18 & up. Make sure to confirm their stance on that if you have a teenager traveling with you. There weren't any other teens their age, but they were okay with that as we normally hang out as a family on vacations. The hotel has 106 rooms and can accommodate up to about 250. With that said we loved seeing the same guests daily and at various meals. Everyone was super friendly and looking to connect. We were in the minority as Americans - most were from the UK or Canada which was interesting and fun.
I'd suggest you take advantage of the free shuttle to and from the airport. We were a little nervous over a taxi in a foreign country, but they were safe. Esp once you were at the hotel - we found one taxi driver, Ricky, that we liked and used him for all trips. He was so great telling us all about Antigua and answering so many questions. He took us to Shirley Heights/Nelson's Boatyard. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and overcast the day we went so the view & sunset were subpar, but it was still a fun day and worth going to to get a little taste of a true Antiguan event.
Lodging: We stayed in the Seaview rooms, which is a two-story building. They were very basic rooms, but the bathrooms had been renovated and had double vanities and wonderful outdoor showers. Even our second floor room had a fully outdoor shower with two handheld showerhead and two rain showerheads. There were hooks for towels, plenty of vanity space and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean! Our room had a large balcony with a table & 5 chairs that overlooked the beautiful sunset every night. We stayed in the Sea View rooms and were thrilled about the central location. Some of the other cottages/villas were too far down for our taste. We were central to all restaurants and the main beach. Another cool aspect is that the way the hotel was laid out other guests weren't passing by your hotel door. We had our own staircase up to our room that

Had the most amazing holiday here. Beaches and sea are just stunning, staff are the friendliest ive ever known in all my holidays I've had. The food was amazing, cocktails were brilliant, rooms were comfy and a/c was top notch in my garden bungalow.
Only downside and this is nit picking is the drinks waitor service is almost non existent, someone may come round 1 day but not the next. Also bring your own snacks for night time as the shop on site is tiny and makes harrods look cheap and there is no shop remotely close
Would I stay here again? Absolutely i would, this hotel is perfect for the ultimate chill holiday
