Los Cerros

I’ve genuinely been waiting days to write this review. My phone broke right after I left Los Cerros, and I refused to write anything until I had a replacement—because this experience deserved to be done properly. From start to finish, everything was phenomenal. The food, the atmosphere, and especially the service could not have been better. It was absolutely outstanding—easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, and that’s coming from someone who has been traveling full-time for the past three years. A special thank you to Adrian, my waiter, who was truly exceptional. Attentive, warm, and effortlessly professional—he made the entire experience feel seamless and elevated. Florencia at the front desk was also incredible. Not only did she give me great recommendations for where to go for a nightcap, but she also helped guide me back to my hotel after my phone broke, which I really appreciated. Fue absolutamente excepcional—sin duda uno de los mejores restaurantes en los que he estado, y eso viniendo de alguien que ha viajado a tiempo completo durante los últimos tres años. Un agradecimiento especial a Adrian, mi camarero, quien fue realmente increíble. Atento, cálido y muy profesional—hizo que toda la experiencia se sintiera fluida y elevada. Florencia en la recepción también fue maravillosa. No solo me dio excelentes recomendaciones para ir a tomar algo después, sino que también me ayudó a orientarme para volver a mi hotel cuando mi teléfono se había roto, lo cual agradecí muchísimo. Este lugar es realmente especial. Si estás en El Chaltén, no te lo puedes perder.

A great location on top of a hill overlooking Chalten. Great service and an excellent restaurant!!!! Walking distance to the trailhead to hike to Fitz Roy.

Our stay at Hotel Los Cerros in El Chaltén was excellent, and without hesitation I can say this is the best and most comfortable/luxurious hotel if you want to stay in town. While there are a few ultra-luxury lodges located farther outside the village, if being close to restaurants, shops, and trail access matters to you, this is absolutely the right choice—and we do not regret it for a second. I would definitely stay here again. We arrived at 10:00 AM with a tour scheduled at 11:00 AM, fully expecting that our room would not be ready yet. While it wasn’t initially available, the team welcomed us with coffee and, within about 20 minutes, had prepared a clean room for us. Being able to drop our luggage and freshen up before a long hike made a huge difference and clearly showed how much they care about their guests’ experience. The location is perfect—walking distance to everything, including restaurants and the supermarket. And a special tip: you must go to La Vinería Grill. It’s not particularly well known online, yet it was the best meal we had in all of Patagonia. The rooms are clean, warm, comfortable, and very welcoming—exactly what you want after a full day hiking in the region. The breakfast is also very good. It may not be the most extensive buffet in the world, but considering you are literally in the middle of nowhere, the quality, freshness, and variety are excellent and you will absolutely find something you enjoy. If your plan is to stay in El Chaltén itself, don’t think twice—you will not find a better option. A fantastic base for exploring Patagonia. 🏔️✨
