My partner and I stayed here a couple of weekends ago, when I was visiting from interstate. We arrived to the accommodation at approx 7pm to room 53. We went to use the shower and the water went cold after no less than a few minutes. We tried to get this rectified by calling, to which the owner said it was a small tank and to wait 15 mins between showers, however the water didnt last to begin with. This occurred again the next morning and afternoon, trying to advise on multiple occasions. They came to the room to test the water, to which it was hot initially and they indicated their disbelief that the shower didnt last more than a few mins. we eventually were moved to another room after multiple requests. We requested compensation for the unsatisfactory stay, noting there was also dried blood on the cupboard, and an old soap cake above the shower in room 53. To which an email was received essentially denying both the shower issue and the cleanliness issue, that what i said was not true. As a customer, i didnt appreciate this customer service, and felt as if the Hotel Manager was being dismissive and gaslighting the issue. For the rest of our stay (an additional 2 nights) there were people in the room above us who were loud and disruptive the whole time. We advised the hotel manager, and again, there was no response. Our stay here was horrible and uncomfortable, and the customer service was below average. I do not recommend staying here to anyone.

The location is great and central to everything. Manuka shopping center and restaurants were only few minutes’ drive. Also, it’s so close to the Fyshwick fresh market where we purchased some fresh vegetables and seafood and cooked in our room. The Room is cozy but very clean and comfortable. The kitchenette offered everything we need for our self-catering. Staff were warm and helpful. It was good value for money. I do recommend and will stay again.

Griffith, bordering Narrabundah and Fyshwick isn’t where one might instinctively lay ones hat when visiting Canberra, however don’t dismiss this apartment for a stay in the National Capitol. Virtually opposite Canberra’s best foodies market, with plenty of cafes etc, this is really a bit of a gem when it comes to a well facilitated room. Full enough kitchen, good bed and plenty of storage, cutlery and crockery - and even an outside patio or upstairs verandah. No it isn’t new and palatial but it really is a very sound alternative. I’ll certainly be returning and the generous extras like breakfast packs or discounts for direct booking make this a serious contender when staying in Canberra.
