This wonderfully quirky gem is situated perfectly in the city. Lovely staff, friendly atmophare. Its a shame that Sydney is so sad and gray in 2025. Harrys Hotel is still a quirky gem 💎 polish you crown Sydney.

We stopped in at Hotel Harry to meet friends for drinks and possibly stay for Dinner —but after half an hour , we decided to take our business elsewhere..In a suburb like Surry Hills , where there are so many great venues doing it right , this one really misses the mark ,. The Atmosphere was overwhelmingly loud , making it hard to hold a conversation.Cocktails were overpriced and frankly , underwhelming in both quality and presentation..Most disappointing of all was the staff —they seemed completely disinterested and disengaged , as if they’d rather be anywhere else Hospitality is about more than just pouring drinks —it’s about making people feel welcome ,,and this venue failed on that front. Wouldn’t return especially when there are many better options just around the corner

I get the heritage, retro vibes; I get the shabby hipster decor, but one thing I'll never get is over powering room deodoriser scents. It was so overwhelming ascending the worn carpeted stairs to my room. Inside the room it was mildly better. While the sheets and bed were clean (pillows were old and worn), the room really needed a full deep clean, especially in the bathroom. Sure, toilet was clean, but years of built up grime and dust around shower base, sink floor and tiles, was bad. I went to open the window to get fresh air (also, to help deal with scent) and found that it doesn't lock but opens into an air-lock, where I could look into a businesses back door. Not good for security. Happily, I stayed mid week which didn't include the noise issues that others have spoken about. Shame, as it doesn't feel like with too much work it could be worthy of it's 3 stars... at the moment, more like 2. :(
