Old Sydney Holiday Inn

Location amazing, price seemed very fair - however unfortunately both bathrooms in two rooms were filthy. First with previous guests talc on bathroom floor (not been mopped) and pubic hair in the sink, when I asked for an alternative room this had pink/orange staining to floor tile grout near drain, this is Serratia Marcescens , an opportunistic bacteria capable of causing illness in susceptible individuals. This can be removed with correct processes. Staff initially helpful and changed my room but second staff member was not interested even when I suggested I’d rather explain my concerns in person rather than writing a poor review.

If you are after a hotel that is affordable, no frills but 4 star and close to Circular Quay and all its offerings- this is absolutely perfect! Would definitely stay here again!

The location is excellent, and I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the hotel. The rooftop offers a stunning view, which was definitely one of the highlights of my stay. My room was clean, and I especially loved having a bathtub. Unfortunately, there was one major downside: the room service food. The cheeseburger patty smelled so bad that I couldn't finish it. The garlic bread was extremely dry and felt like sawdust in my mouth, and the rhubarb-apple tart strangely tasted like cheese. Considering I spent $55 on this meal, it was very disappointing and by far the worst part of my stay. Overall, the hotel itself was great, but I would strongly recommend avoiding the room service menu.
