Meriton Serviced Apartments Campbell Street

I have stayed at the Meriton in Campbell Street many times, and it never disappoints. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the Front Desk staff, Monica and Camil. Monica remembered me from my last stay (nearly two years ago) which was so nice! She even managed to get me straight into a room, even though I arrived earlier than the usual check-in time. My room, as always, was spotlessly clean, bright and modern; with excellent facilities. The bed was comfortable, and a mattress topper had been placed on the bed, as I had requested when I made the booking. Any requests I made were promptly acted upon; and nothing was too much trouble. Camil assisted me several times; and was always kind, efficient and helpful. This hotel is in an excellent position - close to Central Station; surrounded by nice cafes and restaurants; and a few steps from the light rail, which is important for me, as I have mobility issues, and can't walk a long way. The Capitol Theatre is just across the road; and I enjoyed a live performance there on a previous visit. Haymarket, Chinatown and Darling Square are a short walk away; as is Paddy's Markets. I can only highly recommend this hotel! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and look forward to returning in the near future.

This hotel is reasonably priced and near enough to most everything in downtown Sydney to walk (<1.5 miles each way). The staff was amazingly friendly. They let me store my 3 large duffles in their luggage closet for almost a week before I even checked in. My room had a washer and dryer (with detergent but bring dryer sheets), which came in so handy! They have locations all over Sydney, sometimes within a clock of each other. I’d definitely stay with this brand again.

Nice place in a good location, but overpowering all else was the fact that they tried to cheat us out of the suite that we actually booked. By their own admission, it was not a mistake but something to do with internal reshuffling - a completely lame excuse! Compounding the issue; our taxi from the airport dropped us at the street behind, saying that cars are not allowed on Campbell St, leaving me to cart a significant amount of luggage from there to the front and on to reception - and they have no porter service! This is not their fault, but I expect it happens to many people! I'll never stay there again, but my advice to them is don't downgrade people's room without their express agreement
