Capella Lodge

My husband and I had an amazing experience at Capella Lodge. The hotel is small (9 rooms) and in a beautiful location. Amazing views over the mountains and the sea. We stayed in a maisonette room with a hot tub, which was the perfect relaxation after a strenuous hike. Breakfast & dinner was included, as well as canapés and cocktails before dinner. All the food was amazing! The staff too was super friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have had a better time and can’t wait to get back there! It’s a magical place.

This was our first experience of holidaying at Lord Howe Island and we couldn't have picked better than a stay at Capella Lodge. From the time of our pick-up from LHI airport the service began ... and never stopped until they dropped us back at the airport on departure. Full marks to Bridie and Ryan as Managers of the lodge and their team. It was faultless. From our welcome drinks to evening canapés over an amazing sunset to the evening meal to the morning breakfast. All meals had such a large choice that no-one would be disappointed. The food was superbly delicious - even our packed picnic lunch that was delivered to (and picked up from) the beach of our choice (Ned's Beach in our instance) that included table cloths, serviettes (napkins) and prepared food and drinks. Yum! Our room had its own ocean view and with Lidgbird and Gower Mountains looking down on us. The room itself left no facilities out - from our rain shower to a hot tub to our fully stocked refrigerator (food and drinks and included). The internet was fast (there is no mobile phone reception on the island) which allowed for internet calls. Nothing less than superb. And the Team called everyone (all guests) by their first name - a nice touch. That left nothing for us to do but enjoy this exquisite island with its amazing fauna, flora and history. We'll be back.

My wife and I had dinner at Capella for our 30th Wedding anniversary and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Sensational views, wonderful service and a four course meal of the highest caliber. Capella is brilliantly conceived and managed and hits all the right notes! Highly recommended!!!
