Soldiers Point Holiday Park

Well run holiday park with all the expected amusements for the kids. Cabin was clean and functional. There are a lot of cabins and sites all situated close to each other, but the noise level was pretty low. Lots of kids having a great time. Well located with the excellent bowling club next door and a jetty for fishing across the road. The Cheeky Dog tavern across the road was a great find for food and drink.

As we stayed in one of the new cabins, Clean, fresh , no problems other than 3 different tvs to try & learn , couldn’t get normal tv for the 1st night, but the three other family groups that stayed were mucked around by the cleaners,, the bbq on the deck of the Airstream were left uncleaned, the tray underneath was full of water & oil which is dangerous, the bedding in both vans are hard as a rock, the bedding in the other cabin needed replacing ( badly stained) , The Airstream vans ( Both) have never been washed or polished since they were put there, we have all stayed before with no problems, so the team need to pick up there game, or we will never be back !!

I booked with Ingenia soldiers point a while back. Due to a family emergency I had to cancel, to which I gave a months notice. Ingenia refused a full refund so I settled for park credit. When I went to rebook, the price of the stay was going to be $736. The original stay was going to be $318 at the same park. Ingenia was also forcing me to take an extra day as it was just before a public holiday (not ON the public holiday) which of course defeats the purpose of going away for a long weekend as you end up having to take an extra day off work anyway, but this is somehow justified by the fact that many parks have adopted this unaustralian greedy policy. Considering the big4 6 minutes away was charging $450 for the same length of stay, I could not justify it. Ingenia has now charged me a $50 booking fee for absolutely nothing. I have spent $1000s with Big4 as a perks member so I contacted Big4 head office. They did not help at all as it was “out of their hands”. I understand that I am only one customer and my contribution will make zero difference, so saying I will not stay with Ingenia or Big4 is completely worthless. If that is the message you’re trying to send to your customers, well done, you have achieved it.
