ADGE Boutique Apartment Hotel

Unfortunately, our stay at Adge Hotel & Residence was disappointing, mainly because of the attitude and level of service from some of the staff. We had a very unpleasant check in experience. The gentleman assisting us spoke to us in a rather arrogant and bossy manner, with an unfriendly and unhappy expression. He pointed out that the room we had booked was a disability-accessible room. My partner was handling the check-in, and the staff offered us an upgrade for an additional AUD 30 per night, which my partner eventually agreed to. We had no problem paying for the upgrade, but the way the situation was handled made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. The room itself was okay, but the service the following day was also disappointing. We went out and requested housekeeping, but when we returned, the bed was not properly made and the bathroom had not been properly attended to. There was also only one towel provided, so I had to call reception to request another one. Unfortunately, the response from reception was again delivered in a rather rude and unfriendly tone. What made this even more disappointing was that we actually experienced the opposite from one of the staff members who helped us with our luggage storage. She was exceptionally friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. She understood what hospitality and good service should feel like. Her attitude showed that providing good service is not difficult when you treat guests with warmth and respect. We understand that hotels can be busy and that things may not always be perfect. We are not expecting special treatment. we simply expect basic hospitality and courteous service. We are paying guests on holiday, not asking for a favour, so we should at least be spoken to politely and treated with respect. The location and room were okay, but unfortunately the service experience significantly affected our stay. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides better customer-service training to the front desk and housekeeping teams.

The adge is a great location, its easily accessible to great food and transport. On the onsite restaurant is fantastic with specials on cocktails and dinners every night. The room was clean and had a nice big balcony. There is an aldi nearby if you need to go to the shops and the staff were lovely.

Stayed at the ADGE to have easy access to St Vincent’s Hospital. Loved it. Great location within walking distance of not only the hospital but Hyde Park and city centre. Staff were lovely and super accommodating. Will certainly stay again for any city trips.
