Stayed here for 9 nights and had a lovely time. The hotel is right on the esplanade with perfect views of the harbour. Staff were so friendly and made you feel welcome. The room had everything you need from toiletries, kettle, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, iron and ironing board. We are ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was really good. Highly recommend this hotel

Check in was great and the room had a lovely harbour view and was clean. Housekeeping however did not always stock up on teabags and coffee and we had to keep asking. One day there was no coffee and could only get decaf which shouldn’t be the case when you are paying over $400 per night. The pool is nice (although very cold). The breakfast was nice - omelet was delicious however we were never told this was an option to fill out an order when entering the restaurant but luckily discovered this on the last day. Coffee machine in the restaurant was always out of order. The pump machine for the hot water always splashes hot water so maybe that could be changed. The carpet in the hallway on the 9th floor needs a good clean - overall the hotel is old and could do with a good reno. However the room was lovely and we had dinner one night in the restaurant which was lovely. I would stay again.

What impressed me most about the hotel was the staff. Michelle on Reception could not have been more helpful and friendly, and all the restaurant, bar and housekeeping staff really gave meaning to the term ‘professional service’. In terms of facilities, the Garden Inn is not top of Hilton’s pecking order, but its staff and service couldn’t be bettered.
