We stayed at Tasman Holiday Park in Airlie Beach and, unfortunately, our experience was pretty bad. Our original cabin had a significant ant infestation in the kitchen - at least 50 ants roaming around the counters and cupboards. We completely understand it’s a tropical climate, but this was far beyond what you’d reasonably expect. On top of that, we found two live large cockroaches - one in the dishwasher and another in the cupboard under the sink. This made it really difficult to feel comfortable, and we barely slept that first night. As it was late, we didn’t have much choice but to stay in the infested cabin. We emailed the park and they did move us to a new cabin the next day, which we appreciated, but we weren’t offered any compensation or partial refund for the night we spent in the original cabin with the infestation, despite requesting this. Based off on our experience regarding the level of cleanliness and the lack of acknowledgment for the inconvenience, we wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t stay there again.

Pretty good location for Airlie Beach, with the 861, 860 bus to the centre just a five minute walk away. The site is quite peaceful. Two food trucks call by in the evening and there is a tavern 3 mins aways on foot. Clean facilities plus really cute Bush Stone Curlew birds across the site to emtertain you.

Staff were welcoming and friendly, the location was a short 4-min drive to the main part of Airlie. The swimming pool and kids’ playground were great to keep the kids entertained. We could only book the studio room as that’s all that was left, but it suited us for what we needed, but the bathroom is very small. There is a tavern across the road which has a great atmosphere and a daily coffee van and food van at our accommodation. Overall, a great place to stay during the school holidays and good value for money.
