Marrakesh Resort

Love this place, very well maintained, staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

The indoor pool, sauna and gym were all closed for renovation as was the entrance at one side of the street. Apparently this has been the case for a couple of years?? When I booked and when I checked in this wasn’t mentioned. I asked if they had an affiliate gym/sauna/indoor pool agreement or any alternative nearby as it was a key part of the reason I booked our holiday there and we had each day planned out. There was no alternative. We actually brought the end of our trip forward as a result of our plans all changing on this. The hotel has continued to ignore my requests for a partial refund.

As a permanent renter, I have few positive things to say about this 4 Star resort. The continual war zone of construction noises, sometimes at 6am, reduces the use of an alarm clock. There is always a unit, under repair, jackhammers, hammering, any day of the week. The carpets in the hall, smell are tired and worn, and few cleanings ever done. Quite a few of the units still have the original, tired old furniture. There is no standard of dress code, especially management. Very unprofessional. The basement has a very strong odour of sewerage and you can always fine a roach, dead or alive. The hot tub is forever out of service, and the pool not cleaned regularly. My stay here started off wonderfully, but as the years passed and NEW management took over, this resort went from 4 Star to 1 Star. So many issues, so little space, watch this space 📫 🤔
