Wave Resort

The wave is a lovely resort, in a great location, for this you will pay a premium price. I'm generally OK with paying a little extra for a nice comfortable holiday BUT... when I pay good money for my holiday I expect to be able to sleep well past 6am.. All rooms at the wave overlook a major construction site which apparently has no noise restrictions. Probably officially starts at 7am 6 days a week but so much work is actualy done pre-start including setting up machinery, concrete pumps etc. Now add to this discomfort that the entire swimming pool and entertainment deck was closed for renovation. 30 degree days and $1000s of dollars paid with no pool to enjoy? The key difference between a motel and a resort would be the facilities. If the facilities are CLOSED how can you still charge your premium price? Obviously my complaint wasn't the first and Staff response was pretty much too bad not our fault. This staff attitude was the most disappointing, not an ounce of empathy or understanding, certainly no consideration of discount or apology. There are so many great resorts in Broadbeach. Give This One a Big Miss

Resort under renovations, we were not advised about it. Main pool deck completely closed. Roof top pool open spa on roof top didn’t work every time. Construction site next door very noisy from 6:00 am, woke us up. Otherwise it’s a nice place. Great location close to good restaurants and safe beach. Rooms were spacious and clean.

We have stayed at the Wave Resort previously, before the construction next door was started. The website , when booking , mentioned there may be noise from the very large apartment complex that is being in front on Albert Street. The rooms are very large and spacious, and currently have a view over the coast. If you enjoy being woken every morning at 6.30 am, and then enjoy the construction noise of the development next door, then The Wave resort is for you. At this stage, the construction is only at ground level, so for the next year or two, be careful with your booking, as your serenity of a great location in Broadbeach will be in jeopardy.
