Lived and worked all over the world third world countries first world countries and I've stayed in a variety of accommodations both good and bad but this hotel that I stayed in recently in Cairns far north QLD was simply disgusting. The Louvre windows in the main living room area would not shut and the constant noise from the traffic was horrendous. Then the issue with our native population late at night having brawls below the window and of course the noise permeating dwelling. Then it became time to have a shower and go to bed and shock horror no hot water. I rang reception to see if they could fix the hot water, but alas they could not. There was an initial mix up with the booking with the room, they supplied some wide and beer to compensate.

Bed was comfortable at least. Bathroom mouldy and bath 🛁 that looked unpleasant to step into. Couch chair was dirty and not able to used. Aircon and tv worked well. Pool was ok ,location too far from woolies supermarket, 25 min walk. Staff at reception bit unfriendly and not welcoming 😕 wouldn't stay here again. Actually last time visiting cairns. Lagoon pool was being renovated again.

This hotel is an extremely budget hotel that scrimps on every level. The fridge is too small to hold much food. There are only basic implements for cooking or dining. Sachets of dishwashing liquid are doled out like gold and when you ask for more you are begrudgingly given a few extra. There is very limited parking onsite and it's first in best dressed. Staff are slow to respond to requests for help. Our fridge was set too low and when we asked from help the response was s slow that we lost some food and then it took an agitated confrontation with the staff to have the problem attended to. We booked a week as we are in the process of buying a house and had no idea that we would be in for such an unpleasant experience. Do not stay here.
