Golden Sands Resort

We had an apartment on the ground floor and it was amazing! Check in was easy and quick. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was spacious and clean. The hotel was quiet and and in easy walking distance to a beautiful beach. We were only there for 2 nights but enjoyed our stay immensely.

If you decide to holiday in Cairns then do yourself a favour and consider staying at the Golden Sands Beachfront Resort. We stayed there for eight, most enjoyable nights and can highly recommend this hotel. The room was spacious, sparkling clean, well equipped and had a beautiful view from the balcony. The bed was huge and very comfortable - extra pillows too. To keep you cool there are ceiling fans and a large reverse cycle air conditioner. A pleasant surprise was finding a washing machine (with detergent) and dryer hidden nicely behind concertina doors. The bathroom was large, modern and had excellent water pressure. The kitchen had a full size fridge, hotplate and was fully equipped - but we did not cook as Cairns has SO many restaurants to choose from! As for location - Yorkeys Knob; a short drive north of Cairns and it is just so beautiful and peaceful. The hotel is located right on the beach where you walk through a lush, vegetated park to access the beach. There is a highly rated restaurant located next to the hotel's pool, where they offer scrumptious breakfasts and lunches - can highly recommend dining there. We also walked a little way down the beach to another restaurant for dinner; Ten 06. They are fully licensed too. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. :-)

We have stayed at this resort several times and absolutely love it. We spent six weeks here in August/September. Mandy and Carl are excellent hosts, the apartment was light, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble and, for us, is a home from home. We highly recommend this resort.
