Pacific International Cairns

Doing tour and our agent booked us into this hotel. Good location for seafront and town for eating and shopping. Pleasant staff. We had a very large room with all usual amenities, however ours had something wrong with the double glazing and couldn't be seen through well, so spoiled the view. The room storage - high cupboards - wasn't very useful and there weren't any trouser hangers (suppose we could have asked). The bathroom had terrible ventilation, so steamed up a great deal; there was nowhere close to the shower to hang a towel in easy reach and the water splashed out easily, so soaking the floor and/or bath mat; sinks couldn't be filled - no plugs or other mechanism. Frustratingly, there are no usable staircases (other than for emergency presumably), so going up and down one floor to use the washing machine necessitated waiting for and using the lift every time. Only had breakfast, which was usual hotel buffet. However, felt it was done on the cheap with things like tasteless tined fruits and stale granola. Cooked food was OK, and selection of breads very good. A shame - for a premium hotel felt things could be better.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Pacific Hotel! Actually in Cairns most of the hotels are located in one area, what makes it difficult to make a choice for the stay, especially if you plan to be active, what was my case. Well, Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, I planned my activities carefully first, and then the stay. Pacific hotel - greatest location! Not just Reef Fleet terminal is within a couple of minutes, what makes it extremely easy to catch your cruise, and I had several during my vacations, Rainforest tours are also easy to reach! Best dining and shopping option are also just around the corner! I happen to be there during Cairns 150th anniversary, what was very special. The anniversary celebration was held during a week and every evening offered some great options to enjoyed it, including live performances until late night. The stage was just a short walk distance from Pacific hotel, but luckily it was quiet and comfortable inside the hotel and I had a good quality sleep, what is also extremely important! Well, but Pacific hotel is not just about location! The rooms with calm and stylish tropical design are extremely welcoming and classy! Executive Luxury Suite with direct pull access made my stay absolutely perfect!

Excellent location close to Esplanade and shops. We were out a lot doing tours but the rooms were comfortable,quiet and clean Reception staff helpful when we needed them. You may hear curlew calls at night: my favourite bird. Can't comment on dining as we.went out to local eateries.
