Reflection On The Sea Apartments

We first visited in 2016 and had a beautiful 2 bed apartment on the 11th floor facing the sea with leather sofas and exceptionally comfortable beds with immaculate bedding. Out visit last year was very disappointing as we were forced into the Tower 2 complex due to the bad storms and the other building being unavailable after the lifts failed. We only found out we had been moved on the day we were traveling from NZ and had zero option to change anything. We had to pretend it was all fine as we didn’t want to upset my elderly Mum because this was her trip of a lifetime to Australia before she flew back to London. The apartment we were put into was on the corner with a side/sea view. The balcony was poky and nothing like the massive ones you get in the other building. The bed in the master bedroom was absolutely beyond hope, the mattress was collapsed and should have been replaced a long time ago. We complained and were told it would be dealt with, which was a lie as we never heard anything further so Mum swapped with us and we went in her room. The lounge area had a hideous tiny cheap & uncomfortable sofa (worse than IKEA) and a little dining table with barely enough seating for 3 let alone 4 people. Our overall impression was that there is no consistency, the staff don’t care and apartment owners are not being held to account and made to replace worn out beds/furniture nor any requirement to provide furnishings of a minimum standard appropriate to the prices they are charging. We felt ripped off and should have been refunded the difference between what we paid for and what we ended up with but nothing was ever offered, not even an apology. The photos don’t show the tired apartments so make sure you ask them for a specific room number when booking, otherwise it can be a very expensive hit and miss if you’re unlucky to get one of the inferior ones.

Brilliant location with absolutely stellar ocean views. Right amongst a heap of eating and drinking venues. Sadly maintenance here appears non existent with broken furniture, loose fittings and dirty bed valances, walls mirrors etc. Such a pity as these are perfectly placed apartments.

My husband and I along with our 30 year old daughter had to be in Cooloongatta for a navy reunion and the functions were just nearby, so we chose here to stay. The right decision was made. Stunning sea views. Spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. Very tastefully decorated. Everything you could want, air con, fans, tea, coffee, ice dispensing fridge, cooking utensils, huge reclining lounge suite and other comfortable chairs. We could quite happily have stayed for much longer than 3 nights. Convenience store right there, loads of places to eat too. We didnt use the pool as it was far too windy when we were there, but it looked lovely. The only negative I have (and its not really a negative)is that the king bed was in the bedroom with the smaller bathroom, the master bedroom had a double/queen. So my daughter stayed in the master and my husband and I in the second bedroom, which was just as beautiful really. Reception was very helpful and the one time breakfast voucher was appreciated. If ever back in Cooloongatta, that will be our choice of accomodation. We were on the 15th floor.
