Broken River Mountain Retreat

Our lodge was rustic, but it's a Mood we like! Since it was very cold, the extra heaters were fortunately working very well. Welcoming and restaurant ladies were very friendly and very competent. The location is ideal for going to see platypus by the river. Our overall experience remains very satisfactory.

Nice stay, saw platypus and plenty of turtles and got woken up by all number of different wildlife sounds. Cabin was nice, had everything you need, was dated, but that added to the charm! In middle of nowhere so WiFi was unreliable and TV had no signal, not sure if that was just us or allover?. Had nice meal in restaurant, although choice is understandably restricted.

Lovely staff and a beautiful location, but in need of an update and clean. Unfortunately, stains, cobwebs, mildew and cracks greet you upon entry. This resort has so much potential and with an update and clean we would revisit. The restaurant is currently closed, but you have access to a communal barbecue and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. A 60 second walk will bring you to a bridge where you can spot a platypus or two and there are walking tracks close by. It is a nice area to visit and there are some lovely camp sites close by.
