We didn't actually end up staying at the Ecolodge; I made a reservation months ago and we had planned to spend one night there after visiting the zoo. I had corresponded with the (former) management and made arrangements for a room with two beds and transportation to and from the Glasshouse Mt. station. Less than a week before our arrival I emailed to verify the room and the transportation and was told they were under new management and had not yet arranged transportation. There was also an issue with the bed, although after a second email I received a confirmation that there were indeed two beds in the room. After two emails pushing back that we had been promised transportation (the first one was not responded to) I got a confirmation they would provide it. In the end we decided to go back to Brisbane for the night, that it was not worth the hassle to stay one night at the lodge with the hassle of the transport, etc. Of course I forfeited what I had paid as their cancellation policy is 14 days in advance.

This was our third visit. Each time we have loved the uniqueness of the place. Sitting listening to the birds is such a treat and love the bird books in the kitchen. The early morning views of Tibro from the veranda with the sun rising and then watching Tibro disappear at night is something special

Travelling as a family of six on a budget, we were looking for a quiet, unique, and relaxing escape after a long and hot day at Australia Zoo and this place was a perfect find. It’s close to so many attractions yet feels tucked away and peaceful. The room was clean, the kids absolutely loved their stay (and wanted to extend it!), and we enjoyed cooking our own meals with everything already provided, even herbs and spices. Waking up to the view of Mt Tibrogargan and the garden was the best part.
