Breakfree Diamond Beach

First time staying here in 20 years. Used to stay here with my parents during our family gold coast holidays, now I brought my young family of kids between 2 and 7 and we absolutely loved it. The facilities/pools are still the same but with minor updates. Our 3 kids loved the pools, even though it is winter they loved jumping into the cold pool. The heated pool was a constant between all of us and the two spas were a real hit. Great location, short stroll to the beach and to cafes and restaurants. We have decided as a family, after many gold coast holidays staying at random accommodation, that this location is the best. We will recommend this to families of all ages.

Booked this through Accor Live Limitless App. In my experience, Accor makes lodging a complaint with them difficult. This apartment was billed as "4 star" and it looked lovely in the photos. The apartment we were given was dirty, mouldy, broken and lacking the amenities we paid for. In the past I would trust Accor QA on their properties. We pre-paid for 4 star and instead had a sickening experience. Never again.

We booked a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment at Diamond Beach Resort, paying around $500 per night, expecting a basic level of comfort and privacy. On arrival, we were shocked to discover that the main bathroom in Apartment 143 was completely unusable — it had no door at all. The door had been entirely removed, making the bathroom impractical and unacceptable for a family or group stay. We raised this issue immediately at reception, however no solution was offered. Our request to be moved to a different apartment was declined, despite the apartment clearly not meeting minimum expectations for a paid two-bathroom accommodation. The second bathroom did have a door, but unfortunately the lock was broken, which again compromised privacy. Charging premium rates for apartments that are outdated and fail basic functional requirements is not acceptable. A bathroom without a door is not a minor issue — it renders the apartment unsuitable for its advertised purpose. This stay was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend booking here unless management addresses these fundamental maintenance and quality issues.
