Hilton Surfers Paradise

Location: (5/5) Right in the heart of Surfers Paradise, the location is unbeatable. Step out and you're on the main strip – trams are right outside, and you're surrounded by endless dining, bar, and shopping options. Beach access is immediate. For location, it's a perfect score. Hotel & Design: (3.5/5) The hotel has a classic high-rise beachfront design, but it's starting to show its age. Public areas feel dated, and the overall impression is that the property hasn't seen a significant refresh in years. Functional but tired. Room: (3/5) Rooms are not particularly spacious – typical for a beachfront high-rise, but smaller than you might expect. The furniture and fittings are visibly worn and tired, clearly overdue for renovation. Tea selection is basic Dilmah – nothing special. There's no rainshower; the handheld showerhead is clearly old and showing signs of rust, which is frankly off-putting at this level. The bed is a bit softer to my like. The noise level is good for higher floor. Dining: (2.5/5) Breakfast: Disappointing compared to previous stays. The selection has been significantly reduced – gone are the Asian options that used to add variety. Now it's just standard English breakfast fare, and even that is executed with limited enthusiasm. The egg station was understaffed. Executive Lounge: A letdown. Access requires advance booking at the front desk, with two timed sittings (5:00–6:30 PM and 6:30–8:00 PM). This rigid structure feels more like a canteen than an executive lounge. The spread is limited in both quantity and quality. The red wine (Pinot Noir) was genuinely the worst I've had in recent memory, thin and unpleasant. It worth noting that the staff were nice and friendly so no blame on them. Service: (2.5/5) Pre-arrival email to Diamond members: I responded specifically requesting latex pillows. Upon check-in, no such pillows were in the room. So what was the point of that email? Upgrade request: I asked if a room upgrade was possible and was told the hotel was fully booked. However, I could still see residential floor apartment-style rooms available online – presumably these fall outside the standard upgrade inventory, but the outright "full" claim felt disingenuous. Overall: 3/5 I stayed here pre-pandemic and had a genuinely good experience. This return visit was a letdown. The location remains stellar, but the rooms are worn, the breakfast is basic, the lounge is mediocre, and service feels half-hearted. For a Hilton in a prime Gold Coast destination, this simply isn't good enough.

Simply good. Rooms have extensive views of the Gold Coast. We can see the Hinterland and all rhe way up the spit. If you don't get a smoker underneath you the experience is quite peaceful. The only critism we have are the lifts are horrible.

Nice stay here. Our initial room overlooked the pool and had a view to the sea. Nice big walk in shower. At night though the night club noise kept us awake. We had a booking that meant we were moving to an apartment for the next 3 nights. Initially we were given an apartment with shower over bath (not what we had booked) then with some discussion were moved to a better apartment. Roomy, clean and reasonably quiet. Hotel is well located and parking easy under the hotel was well signed.
