An eco friendly resort in a beautiful national park. The focus is on the birds, animals and fish so if you love nature this is a place for you. You can snorkel anytime you like right off the shore or in the channel. The downside is the accommodation camp feels a bit like a school camp as you have to book in for average meals and the rooms are servicable but not luxurious. Dinner was a buffet with few choices and à la carte was not available. However if you can handle eating average food then go for it as the island is worth it otherwise. Lunch around $30 and dinner around $55 for a buffet. Coffees and soft drinks $7. The bar is good and not too expensive (wine isn$13) and there is a live musician at sundown so you want for nothing. Great boat snorkeling trips and other tours available all day. Kids camp available to give parents an afternoon off. In terms of travel we stayed in Gladstone at the reef hotel motel the day before (highly recommend) and then just let our car in the car park at the marina for free. We did try and get in touch with complete angler as suggested for secure parking but couldn’t get through. As we stayed in July island was not too busy and the birds were not nesting so nice and quiet. Beautiful forest walk no problems. A tip is to check the weather before you go - we were lucky with good temp and wind speed.

Island beautiful. We stayed in the beach house. Website photos and inclusions do not match. Web has boardwalk to beach and lounge on verandah.reality small deck with timber chairs and table no board walk but sundloungeer and table at beachfront. Web offers robes and slippers reality no robes and slippers. Web interior furniture table chairs etc reality 1 chair. Filthy lounge with mould stains Biro. Cushion covers dirty not laundered bed sheets definitely not made fresh smelly blanket in cupboard dirty bed spreads stained. Have to wear shoes inside or black feet. Disappointing to say the least . Complain to reception oh sorry email your complaint to the duty manager. Yes as a remote island wear and tear and old furniture to be expected. Not seeing what's advertised on arrival not getting inclusion listed and poor cleanliness not acceptable. Bathroom towels with hole in them and parades in the evening through bedroom and bathroom conga line really. Neither luxurious nor relaxing. Food is definitely hit and miss. Again standards you expect to pay but again quality nope. Could not eat the takeaway pizza. Ordered steak it was OK came with 5 small wedge size potatoes. Want vegetables ar salad order and pay extra. Buffet breakfast croissants were rocks .pancakes were nice. Bubbles available included nice addition to average buffet. Location lovely unique food below average complaint handling non existent. I have however emailed the resort and will update their response if I get one. Book a cheap room people because the expensive one is a disappointment.

A lovely, peaceful island. My husband described it as magical. The accommodations were a bit rustic with no screens or A/C, but we knew that before arriving. We loved being able to snorkel from the beach and we also booked a deeper snorkel which was a quick 10 minute boat ride out. There are a lot of birds so if you don’t enjoy birds, this may not be your place. From the main dock, you can view reef sharks, large rays and turtles. Great fun for kids and adults too. There is also a lovely small pool on the property. The food at the restaurant was better than we expected, the staff were amazing and the nature tours offered were fun. The hotel arranges the ferry passage for all guests staying at the resort and they will contact you once you book your stay. All and all, a wonderful 3 day stay!
