Breakfree French Quarter

Dont stay here, major construction works. Incredibly noisy, Most disappointing, back to the Sebel from now on

I recently stayed at the mantra French quarter in Noosa. While having had lovely stays there before, this particular holiday fell well short of expectations. We arrived to find a construction notice on the door of the room next to ours. We had been given no prior notice of construction in any of the booking confirmation nor pre check in emails. I thought this strange but guessed perhaps work wasn’t currently underway. I was wrong. After some noise next door that afternoon and very early the next day I spoke with reception where a lovely staff member told me she would raise it with her manager. It was another day before I had heard anything. I went back to reception to advise that I hadn’t heard, and to let them know we had no soap or conditioner in our shower. It wasn’t until the next day I got a message from the manager. I returned the call the next morning and spoke with a very understanding assistant manager who said she would email me about compensation. Which she did. By this time we had also realised there was no shower door on the shower in the second bathroom. At all times when speaking with staff we were advised that normally the room next door would be left free and that we should not have been booked into that room. I was patient and understanding. With regard to the other issues (still no soap or conditioner by the time we checked out) the staff acknowledged that our stay had fallen short of their standards. It’s a 4-star Accor serviced apartment. The hotel has offered us a small discount on some of the days of our stay. I have asked them to reconsider however they will not budge. I understand they were busy, I understand that the renovations ran over time, I understand that I should not have been booked into that room. What I don’t understand is why that is my problem and not the property’s. The location is great but that is about all I can rate here.

We stayed two nights in late March 2026. Checkin and arrival good, stored our luggage because we were early. Room on ground floor was nice, fairly quiet, nice bed and bathroom. Plan to stay again in November
