Burleigh Palms Holiday Apartments

This is a mixed review, overall if you have a bigger budget, stay elsewhere, if you’re on a budget and location is a high priority, it will suit your needs. Location is fantastic (private walkway to the other side of the block that faces the beach is a major plus), check in was easy, undercover/secure free parking is great, 1 bedroom apartment was spacious. The pool area was great and the broken pool heater didn’t deter us too much (it’s in the process of being fixed). However, when the reviews say outdated they mean outdated. Unit 8 was nowhere near the room photos posted on the official website and third party site, it definitely seemed like they cherry picked which photos to use. A more realistic variety of photos would have been useful. The unit is in desperate need of updating/repair (in saying this, it does look like rooms are being renovated, a unit a few down from us has been gutted and closed off). The furniture is worn and has damage in places, the futon has what looked like a cigarette burn hole in it, luckily this was not the main couch. The bathroom sink faucet has corrosion cracks on the top so that it spouts water when in use, the toilet seat didn’t seem to be the right fit for the toilet, the kitchen utensils were very average and there wasn’t a knife that could cut a watermelon properly. I let the owner know about a few of the issues and had a great response about following it up so that was good. We flew from interstate so had to buy supplies, which I knew we had to do to an extent. I didn’t fully realise that a self-serviced holiday accommodation also requires you to supply everything, including bin bags (although I was able to get a second from the owner for our 7 night stay). The toiletries that are listed as available are a tiny shampoo and conditioner and a small bar of soap, don’t rely on this for a more than 1-2 night stay. No flannels/wash cloths provided, we ended up purchasing some. A more thorough explanation of what is provided and what’s not provided would be helpful for interstate/overseas travellers. Wifi was patchy and streaming to the tv didn’t work despite multiple attempts over a few days (we didn’t bother reporting this as we decided to branch out and try the movies included in Foxtel). Of particular annoyance, cigarette smoke continued to come through the non-closable bathroom window vent. I have no idea where it was coming from but something for the owners to look into. We had our 3 year old with us and therefore particularly didn’t like having the bedroom smell of smoke. We booked very early with a good rate (also discounted on Booking.com) so at approx. $200 a night we probably got what we paid for, but anymore than this a night I would be very unhappy with the quality of the unit. We have never stayed in the area before so don’t have much to compare it to re price vs quality etc. hope this review is helpful for those looking for accommodation.

Stayed in apartment number 2 which was a 2 bedroom apartment with a courtyard. The apartment was very clean with plenty of little extras like board games, tea and coffee and a washing machine. Beds were comfortable and we loved the location. Easy walk to beach, restaurant and shops. Secure undercover parking. Pool looked meticulously clean and there were tables and bbqs available to use around the pool. Great stay would happily book again

I booked a 2 bedroom unit for my parents who absolutely loved their stay. I had informed the property managers that my parents both have difficulties mobilising, and they were assigned a ground floor unit without any issues. The unit was spacious, the kitchen had all basic essentials and the managers were really lovely and helpful whenever we had any questions. Lovely little pool area with bbqs. Having parking included in Burleigh is great and the short walking distance to the beach and cafes made it the ideal location.
