Quality Mermaid Waters

We booked Mermaid Waters as a convenient place to sleep over after a night out with local friends. For the $163 I paid for 1 night, I expected motel style accommodation and would have been happy with a clean, comfortable enough room, but this surpassed our expectations. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and provided vouchers for free drinks at the bar which we enjoyed ( the bar seemed fine, a traditional family/sports bar mix. The hot chips are strongly recommended!). A secure parking area was available at no extra cost, there was a coffee pod machine in the room with pods and milk, and a couple of bottles of water in the fridge. The room was larger than usual with a king sized bed. The bathroom, whilst it had old styling looked as though it had undergone a mini refurb and was very clean. Breakfast was also included in the price which we hadn’t expected, and although it was quite basic, was more than adequate for our needs. If I was looking for a simple stay over on the Gold Coast, this would be first choice. If I wanted to have a GC holiday with easy access to the beach, maybe I’d stick to my normal choices around Broadbeach

Accidentally left a small pouch of jewellery in the room. My fault. Hotel told me they’d investigate and get back to me. I had to call again. Jewellery pouch not in lost and found. Housekeeping Manager said the guests after me must have taken it. If housekeeping had cleaned my room properly then my pouch would be in lost property. A bunch of dishonest thieving staff I say! Don’t give this hotel your business. Very, very disappointed. Note, jewellery had no monetary valve!

We have stayed here many times and find this hotel great value and the staff very helpful..special mention to Rosie who runs around making sure everyone has what they need. And Storm who is also very kind and helpful
