Ceduna Motor Inn

We are on a road trip from to Perth, and this was the most expensive and worst place we have stayed in to date. Our room had a microwave, small fridge, kettle, iron and ironing board. The room was clean and tidy. Whilst it did have a couple of mugs, if you wanted cutlery or crockery, you needed to see reception. The King bed was reasonably comfortable. The room had a table and two chairs and a comfy lounge. The things that earnt the 1 star rating were: You could not get the “free wifi” No storage in bathroom The communal BBQ was filthy Could not get out of the rear sliding door The very old box air conditioner was preset to 20 degrees and it was winter, so it only took the chill off the air 🤬 The shower can only be described as a disgrace! There was no water pressure and I only used the hot water tap to get warm water before it turned boiling hot…when I turned the cold water tap, nothing came out! At $185 a night, I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. I am sure there are better places to stay in Ceduna.

This place has changed hands recently and it sounds like the handover didn't go smoothly. The infrastructure is a little tired and the owners have some work to do but, that said, our stay was very comfortable. Although we didn't eat there, there were great smells coming from the kitchen. Definitely worth coming back to.

In a word, atrocious. The state of the room, the non existent facilities, but above all.. the service. I'd booked originally on booking.com, they had cancelled the booking as the motel had been taken over by new owners so booking.com had told me to re-book with them, only to see that they were no longer taking bookings through them (I now understand why!) so I called them to re-book. I was told on the phone that the price would be the same, that my card would not be charged until I arrived. Both which were not the case. I should have realised something was amiss when the phone was not answered professionally, I had to ask if it was the Ceduna Motor Inn.. Upon arrival, I asked why my card was charged a much higher amount than I was told over the phone & the staff seemed really disinterested, I felt they wanted they just didn't want to deal with me. Later, my husband & I went back & spoke to an older gentleman thinking he may have been the manager or the owner, but he was beyond rude & dismissive. I explained him to the situation, he didn't want to listen to me, he repeatedly said that we could not get a pet friendly motel in Australia for the original price?! He became quite forceful & rude, raised his voice multiple times. The service is non existent, there was no breakfast included nor any restaurant facilities. AVOID THIS PLACE, it's disgusting & old, the room was extremely run down, the bedding was moth eaten, there is even a sign saying the plumbing is old above the toilet. Pet friendly shouldn't mean having to stay in a dump & being charged a ridiculous amount. They should close it down & refurbish extensively before they think they can charge people $190 a night!
