Edge Of The Bay

We had a wonderful stay in Chalet 2. The chalet has a charming vintage feel that perfectly suits the relaxed atmosphere of Coles Bay, while still being comfortable and well-equipped. The standout feature was undoubtedly the location—the beach was literally right in front of us, just a few steps from the door. Waking up to uninterrupted views across the water and surrounding mountains each morning was unforgettable. One of the highlights was the incredible wildlife. Native Bennett's wallabies regularly wandered right up to our doorstep, making us feel completely immersed in Tasmania's natural beauty. Being surrounded by coastal bushland, pristine beaches, and spectacular scenery made it feel peaceful and secluded, yet it was still a convenient base for exploring the Freycinet area. If you're looking for a place with character, unbeatable beachfront access, and an authentic Tasmanian nature experience, Chalet 2 is hard to beat. We'd happily stay here again.

We have had an amazingly lovely stay at this resort. In particular, we ate at the restaurant tonight and were so impressed with the quality of the food and service. It wasn’t a busy night but we could hear people in neighbouring tables also expressing their delight at the food. My partner and I shared the duck pate parfait and a serving of homemade focaccia bread. I then ordered the beef cheeks whilst my partner had his first experience of gnocchi. The view from the restaurant is outstanding. The food was really good as was the wine selection. Thank you to the chef and head waiter for your exemplary service and making this a special night for us.

One of the best weekends we’ve had in Tassie. Everything was fantastic. The welcome we received, the room, the view and the meals. Absolutely recommend and would go again. A massive thanks to the gentleman working in the restaurant- an asset to the place with his knowledge of all things food, drinks and games (ie A Game Called Birds which we didn’t quite get the hang of!).
