What a fabulous stay in the most Grand accommodation. Think "Traditional Englush" bed and breakfast complete with Welcome Tour and orientation. Steve and Karen are magnificent hosts and offer great insight into the area, it's community, attractions and activities. They'll arrange dinner reservations and transfers if needed. Steve served us a wonderful breakfast of bircher museli, bacon and eggs with all the trimmings, and home made sourdough with accompanying preserves. Not to forget the Tasmanian Infuse coffee from Burnie. Fantastic! Penghana has wonderful views and outlooks from every window and a great view of the town and mountains. We took the rainforest pathway into town and walked back via the roadway as it gave us a chance to look at some of the the local houses and walk by the river. Such a unique experience that shouldn't be missed. Thanks Steve and Karen.

A step back into the living history of the Wild West of Tasmania- this property is an icon. Top quality everything here - we felt the elegance and decadence of a different time with a modern twist. High attention to detail in every room - real crystal, silver and fine bone china. Toasty warm bedroom and luxurious bathroom. Beautifully appointed lounge areas. Even in the rain - a lovely garden. Fascinating history room. Special, extra personal attention which create a 5 star stay - feeling spoilt. Plenty to see around the magnificent West Coast but for a truly relaxing, unique get away....no need to leave this property!

Thank you Karen and Steve for a most lovely stay in a incredible house. The work you have put in to keeping this house a living history is heartening. The Huxley room was so peaceful and it was lovely looking out over Queenstown from every window. I loved the small touches you provided, teapot with tea leaves, coffee machine as well as plunger. The full breakfast you provided in dining room was a great start to our day along with great conversation.
