The meal at this pub was lovely. They were catering for 100 people the night we went, and they managed to squeeze us in. I had the salmon, and my husband had the chicken schnitzel. Couldn't fault the meals & the wine and beer very reasonably priced. $7 is unheard of these days for house wine, and a stubby of beer was only $8.50. It makes sense not to hike drink prices up because you go back for more, plus you go back to the pub again.

Great Bayview room at a reasonable price and also got 10% off food and drink in the restaurant. Clean and comfortable rooms .

Stayed for one night. Hotel is located in the centre of St Helens. We had a bay view room which was very good. Room is a little tired decor wise but comes equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster and tea/coffee facilities. Bed was comfortable and sound proofing good. The hotel has a public bar and restaurant which we ate in and the food very good. All the staff we interacted with (reception, bar staff and cleaning) were very friendly. St Helens is a small quiet town but the hotel seems to be a focal point which made it feel very welcoming. The hotel is perfectly located to base yourself at for visiting the sights in the wider area. Would definitely recommend it.
