Best Western Banjo Paterson

Climbing the outside stairs to our room, the outside carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months and months. Entering our room, it was absolutely freezing, with the balcony door left wide open letting in the freezing night air. The best part of the room was the beautiful bed, but that's where the positives ended. This motel has been let down badly by it's housekeeping and maintenance teams. Sections of black mould in the shower grout. Cobwebs hung from walls and ceiling--plainly visible, but no attempt made to remove. Wall lights loose and rusty. Leak patches on the ceiling and a persistent dripping tap in the bathroom. Outside by the pool, knee high grass/weeds. Looked terrible and such an easy fix. It was distressing for us to see the pool gate propped open with a brick which would have allowed any child access which could have been catastrophic. Unfortunately we would not stay here again.

If you are looking for a good bed and pillows and nothing else you should stay here. Unfortunately, this is the only good thing about this motel. We stayed there 20th April 2026 and found mould in the shower, ants in the bathroom and on the bedside table, a screw protruding 50mm out of the bedhead right next to the pillow. Burn marks in the ceiling, cracks and holes in the wall behind the desk, tap handles loose in the shower and hand basin with one tap dripping. I can add that prior to arriving we received a text message advising that we had been given an upgrade? If this was an upgrade, I am glad we were not allocated to the originally booked room.

Spent two enjoyable nights on a round trip to Melbourne. On both nights our room was clean and comfortable and Ken could not be more helpful. Enjoyed a relaxed meal at Cathy's Asian Kitchen on the second evening. Overall great value for money and will definitely return next time we need a stopover.
