Redan Apartments

What an absolutely sh?thole!!!! Place looks like it’s a meeting place for houso drug exchange!! The guy that checked us in looked like he was mid-slumber when we arrived and was surprised to see three of us (despite us booking for 3 people). In retrospect, the first clue to turn and run was the “The devil will get you” graffitied on the front door Then we went to the room, now I didn’t mean to disturb the meeting of small cockroaches on the floor but they quickly scattered. The receptionist managed to close the main window (after nearly breaking it) but there was no closing the bathroom window (because it wasn’t there). Beds were as comfortable as a wet slab of concrete and the kitchenette had enough small fauna and mould that they could have been conducting some form of science experiment prior to our arrival. We booked for two nights, but will not be returning for night two, I would rather sleep in the rain on the sidewalk. Also the other residents made some weird noises throughout the night, which probably would have kept us awake if the jet engine fan didn’t take care of that (as the ceiling fan wasn’t working).

We needed a place to stay for a few days with my partner until we got an apartment to live. When we scheduled the inspection, Steven greeted us, according to him, one of the 4 managers of the place. When we entered we only saw a normal man leaving and the rest of the doors were closed. He took us to the 3rd floor and showed us the room. It was a super old place with everything in poor condition, but we really needed to sleep there for a few days out of urgency so we rented for 1 week. The next day, when we moved in, we were greeted by a couple of drug addicts who could barely talk and walk. They gave us the key with a used colette hanging and that's where the nightmare began. The first morning we heard screams from a man from the next room. At around 5 in the morning the police arrived, since we don't speak English that well we didn't know what was happening, but the next day a guy at the reception told us that a man wanted by the police was staying there and that they found him that night . Creepy, so we started looking for a room again but night came and we had to spend it there again, fortunately nothing strange happened. But during the day using that broken kitchen was impossible and it became very uncomfortable to feed myself in that place, everything made me sick and I was afraid of whose hands those pots, plates and cutlery had been in. The next night the worst began, it was 7pm and we were coming from a walk, when suddenly we heard screams from a woman and a man who were running through the hallway and down the stairs as if something disastrous was happening, my head imagined that They were kidnapping, killing or robbing someone. I panicked and my partner and I decided to leave that disgusting place. While we were in bed and trying to talk about whether we could last another night, a mouse appeared and went in and out from under the refrigerator. We automatically put all our things in our suitcases and left that place at 10pm. It was better to be in a taxi with our things looking for a hotel than to continue in that place. To add, the room looked so disgusting I can't believe I spent 3 nights there. We wanted to ask for a refund for the 4 nights we didn't sleep there and they had the nerve not to return it.

Worst experience ever. Room not ready at 5:30pm, cleaner using bug spray on the mattress before making the bed. After sweeping there was still food scraps on the floor, a wet mouldy towel in the cupboard, mouldy carpet in the hallway, dirty dishes in the sink, no vanity in the bathroom & it was filthy & there was the constant smell of cigarettes (& we're non smokers). To top it off we saw maggots in the hallway on our last night. If you just want somewhere to sleep & shower find somewhere else.
