The Crossley Hotel Melbourne

I just love this hotel. It is in the best location amongst all the good restaurants; bars and theatres. Everything is so easy to get to, and the rooms are so functional and stylish. I tend to always stay for short visits here. I always enjoy the breakfast and drinks on the rooftop deck. This is the first time I've made it in time for hosted drinks. What a lovely touch! Staff are so friendly; efficient and accommodating, and everything is so clean. One day I will find out about their gym partnership, but usually I just end up going for a city or garden walk for fitness anyway. So wonderful - I will be back.

Our stay at Lancemore Hotel was excellent from start to finish. The hotel is in a fantastic location, within easy walking distance of some of Melbourne’s best restaurants and theatres, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. The complimentary hosted hour for guests from 5:00–6:00 pm was a real highlight. There was a great selection of drinks, and it’s hard to fault considering it was included with our stay. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout. Our room on the seventh floor exceeded expectations. It was spacious, spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and offered a pleasant city view. The room had the fresh scent of newly pressed linen, which immediately gave it a luxurious, immaculate feel. The complimentary bottle of sparkling wine was a thoughtful welcome that made our stay feel even more special. We were also impressed by how quiet the room was—we couldn’t hear any noise from neighbouring rooms, making for a very restful stay. We would also like to recognize Stacey for the exceptional service she provided during our stay while we were celebrating my wife’s birthday. Stacey was warm, friendly, and professional from the moment we met her. She went above and beyond to make our visit truly special, and her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made a lasting impression on us. Employees like Stacey are a tremendous asset, and she is a true credit to Lancemore Hotel. Overall, our stay represented outstanding value for money. Between the excellent location, beautiful accommodation, thoughtful touches, and exceptional hospitality, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Lancemore Hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne.

The only good thing about this establishment is the location. The lobby is dark and totally uninviting as you are immediately met with an overpowering smell of cheap tabacco and perfume. One of the two elevators was out of service which is completely unacceptable given the large number of guests in the building. On that note the demonic video displayed in the elevator was creepy and made it very uncomfortable for guests. This was commented on by everyone I shared an elevator with. The room (suit) was not what was advertised online. I had to carry all over my luggage up a flight of stairs on level 6 to access my room. This would not be possible for someone who is elderly or infirm. The hotel's attempts to rectify the situation with a 15 dollar bottle of Chardonnay was simply quite insulting. On top of this was the intrusive nature of the staff who entered my room to check that I hadn't consumed any food from the mini bar. While the room was generally clean the doona covers for the blanket were stained. The bathroom didn't have a working fan. The considerable cost of the room represents terrible value. I would strongly urge anyone considering the Lancemore to avoid it like the plague. This is one the creepiest places I have ever stayed.
