The Sebel Heritage Yarra Valley

Booked by our tour operator, so not chosen by us. A nice location, very pretty site, but we're not into golf, so that part unnecessary for us. Place is a little dated, although OK, and could do with things like USB sockets, mixer taps, etc. Our bedroom wasn't refreshed despite the tag put on the door, but Reception readily provided additional coffee/tea. Food OK, but odd that room menu is different from restaurant. Also strange that when bar is closed, draught beers aren't available. Breakfasts had either undercooked (tomatoes), overcooked (eggs) and cool tea water and dried out (pancakes) items, so couldn't rave about this. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Stayed at the hotel to celebrate my wife’s 60th Birthday. When booking via the hotel website, I mentioned that this was the reason for our stay. From the minute we arrived, we were welcomed warmly, allocated a fantastic corner room, and received a complimentary bottle of “bubbles” as well as a really nice hand written birthday card. It was such a nice touch. We ate dinner in the Lodge Bar, as well as enjoying breakfast (with the kangaroos) the next morning. All the staff we encountered were smiling and happy, and a credit to the hotel. They must really like their jobs, and it showed. Although there was no pay TV, it was very very easy to stream to the TV in my room from my own device. Will I/we stay here again, of course yes, but please just upgrade the breakfast options a little. Thanks for a wonderful stay, see you again!

Nice hotel set on a golf course. The hotel itself is very good with very pleasant staff. Unfortunately, the restaurant let's the side down. At dinner we waited over 30 minutes just to place an order. Staff were great, just not very effective. The food was decidedly average, not in keeping with the feel of the hotel. Breakfast...... what a disaster zone. Not sufficient food out for the number of guests. Many items kept running out. There are 3 self serve Nespresso coffee machines with long queues and often out off action for maintenance. The cooked offering was grim.
