Residence on Langley Park

Hotel is OK, especially since it is priced slightly below the other major hotels in Perth. However, it seems to have lost something since its takeover from the Hyatt. The facility seems lifeless -- large emptyspaces, little activity, and lack of attention to the facility itself. For example, the escalator from the lobby down to the plaza behind the hotel has been "temporarily out of service" for four months -- spanning my last three stays at the hotel. The pool is very nice, the gym is OK, and the breakfast is good (better, in my view, than other reviews seem to say). Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. It's too bad that the management cannot give the hotel some life -- it has the potential to be a vibrant top-tier hotel.

From start to finish it was a disaster. We used to stay at the Hyatt all the time and it was lovely now it has been taken over by the freshly named residence on Langley but it’s not flash at all. They supposedly underwent a renovation revamp. I don’t see what they actually did. Their furniture is old and tired scratched rusty and dented. We approached someone at reception only to be fobbed off by him because he was too busy on his phone so he waved us off to someone else. The man at the front by the front door is a waste of space. He’s just filling the vacated position of valet parking of which they no longer do he just direct you to where you need to park your car and pay $30 for the privilege. The breakfast what can I say? I’ve had better service from McDonald’s. The only thing happening in the kitchen was a pilot light was still on but no one in there. All the food was old cold and nasty, and when I enquired if they were doing fried eggs was told that would be extra along with extra for a coffee. All of the beautiful food that the Hyatt used to provide for their sumptuous buffet was nonexistent It was the worst experience of my life. everything is old and tatty and dirty the roof is leaking so there was various mismatched buckets all over the seating area near the central fountain. Will never go there again and please Mr revenue man don’t give us the same story you’ve given everyone else, that you’re terribly sorry about our experience and that you value our custom and you will hand on all of the complaints to the relevant departments so that they can look into how they provide their service. Was in every review that I have read from three days ago to 12 months ago nothing has changed so obviously all of your sad and sorry replies to the comments are all bravado. Even the staff that are still working there from when it was the Hyatt mentioned how sad and tired all the equipment is with no maintenance or replacement. So if you don’t listen to our complaints, in two years time you’ll be known by another name and owned by a different company, or you will be what you truly are, a backpackers hostel. I am just deeply sad that you have taken such a beautiful building and a fabulous reputation and have rubbed it into the dirt all for your profit, because $300 or more a night for that service not very good. And by the way, I’ve given better towels to the local dog wash service. Yours are stained grey and crispy. There is no luxuriousness at all in anything that you offer and that I’m sad to say is the truth.

Finally found the time to review this cosy hotel. The hotel's location is good - not too far from the hustle and bustle of the city centre - in fact just a 5 min free bus ride away - just steps from the lovely Langley Park. Love the morning jogs along the Swan River. The staff were freindly and helpful
