Medina Executive Barrack Plaza

Very handy to the centre of Perth and so close to the train and bus hubs. Direction and advice from the staff was appreciated

If you’re looking for a centrally located, clean, well set up serviced apartment, look no further. Adina had everything we needed. Kitchen, Full sized refrigerator, Microwave, Oven, Dishwasher, Washing Machine & Dryer, Balcony, Air Con/Heating, Smart TV’s (bedroom & living room), Ceiling Fan in the room and a strong shower. The customer service team went out of their way to move us from a back facing room (awful) to a city view room (amaaaaazing!). A special thanks to Hannah for going above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Location was good, walkable to most of the main attractions and shopping, including a Woolworths for all your grocery needs (we stayed for almost 3 weeks). Some of the local shops in Barrack St are a bit seedy (adult shops and massage parlours) , though coupled with that there are great bakeries nearby for breakfast cofffee and pastries. I guess it’s just a cosmopolitan area. When we arrived we were given a 1-bed apartment with a view only onto an internal Courtyard and with us being on floor 3 there was very little daylight making its way down. I asked if this could be changed given that we were a long term stay and the staff were great, they moved us to a higher floor with an outside outlook. I’m just mentioning this so that other people are aware. I wouldn’t have minded if it was only a day or two but 18? I think they could have been a bit more proactive. Other issues: One of the two lifts wasn’t working the entire time we were there meaning at times we had a long wait. They were waiting for a part to arrive. Not necessarily the Adina’s fault but annoying. The bath in the replacement apartment was dirty and I had to ask for it to be cleaned before I was prepared to use it. The tumble dryer was on its last legs and kept turning itself off meaning we could only dry clothes when we were actually in the apartment. This was a big deal for us as we were travelling light and had relied on washing clothes every couple of days. The dishwasher soap tablet dispenser was broken. When I reported this to reception the response was that they’d send someone to look at it - I’m not aware if this happened but nothing changed. Reception also said that they were gradually working their way through the apartments replacing the whitewear and I would say this is definitely needed. In all the above issues didn’t adversely impact on our enjoyment of Perth but that’s the reason I’m only rating this 3stars.
