Family Apartments Vienna

We were scammed! The apartment was similar to the one in the photos but definitely different. Let's start: the building was nice on the outside but inside it looked like a house of horrors. Very dirty with two old and used sofas in the lobby where one evening when we returned we found a drug-addicted boy sleeping on them with some food that had fallen on the floor; more dirt all over the entrance hall, in the lift with shoes thrown down the stairs. The apartment had a small room with only the toilet and it was a miracle that you could fit in and in another room there was a shower with a sink without a bidet and a washing machine. The sink didn't drain the water and it disgusted us so much that we barely washed ourselves for the days we were there. The TV didn't work, the internet wasn't working and they couldn't even find sheets to sleep on. We used our linens because the mattress covers were full of stains, who knows?? They only gave us folded towels but they were damp and it made us sick to use them. The worst experience of our life. I repeat, the apartment was not like the one in the photos, maybe they had it but THEY SCAMMED US BIGLY. BE CAREFUL IF LIKE ME YOU GO WITH FAMILIES AND TWO CHILDREN.!!!

I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments expressed by "haniscsu" on 7 April. My wife and I (both in the vulnerable category during this health crisis) held off making a decision about our booking with Vienna Family Apartments (20-26 May 2020) for as long as possible, but when the UK Foreign Office changed its advice against all non-essential travel worldwide to "indefinitely", we reluctantly asked the property rental company for a full refund - something that accommodation firms in both Spain and Germany have graciously provided us with despite these bookings, like the Vienna one, having been made on a non-refundable basis. Whilst refusing to return all (or indeed any) of the accommodation cost may well be legally correct, in the current health and economic conditions, such a decision displays a blatant disregard for the circumstances that others are facing. At this time, when we are all buoyed by the selfless work and dedication of health workers worldwide, the attitude of seemingly totally uncaring people stands in stark contrast.

We have a reservation for May 25 - May 30 and can not get our money back from the property!!! I do not understand that during this pandemic Vienna Family Apartments is being so unreasonable. Do not give your hard earned money to these people. My husband is from Austria and is filing a complaint with the bureau which oversees these types of properties. We booked with booking.com and they are not helping us either.
