Hotel Pension Adam Apartment

Let's start with the positives. Location and comfy beds. Decent sized rooms. Now to the meat of the review. Old and dirty furnishings are expected of a low budget hotel. But bad service is just unacceptable. An old guy runs this place and it looks like he is the only one involved. My toilet or bath was leaking. I reported it and he came to look and made me help him clean up the water. Seeing his aged I did with clenched teeth. Then he blamed me for causing the leak because apparently I was pointing the shower head out of the bath. Which of course I wasn't. It's not my first time using a shower bath thank you I have one at home too that doesn't leak. He moved us to another room but I found out my jacket with my credit card was left behind in the old room. He refused to come in to unlock the door until the next morning because apparently he lived too far. It was 1 pm on Sunday and customers were waiting outside. So I waited with them. Lo and behold the old guy turns up 10 mins later to check in these new customers so I got my old room key off him. THEN he has the nerve to ask for extra 20 euros for the petrol he used to drive back. Heated argument ensues with me reminding him that he came back to check in the new customers. And that I helped him clean up the freaking leak! My distressed girlfriend gave him 10 euros and that was it. Visit only if you can bear the stress of filth poor service and incompetence. I will pay a bit more for peace of mind next time.

The Hotel Pension Adam Apartments in Fasangasse, Wienn, is a filthy hotel/apartment hotel (as per August 2014 when I stayed there). Facts: 1) the apartment that was provided to me had waste left by the previous customers - there is no propper cleaning, 2) there is no towel change neither cleaning during one's stay, 3) immediatly after check in I notice that the shower curtain was missing. After reporting the fact to the recepcionist (and owner) he advised me to take the shower as close as possible to the wall, that we was getting a curtain soon. Seven nights after, the curtain was still missing... 4) hair filaments from previous customers could be seen on the toilet, 5) muck around the base of the taps, 6) dirt on the floor and windows, 7) abandoned furniture and used carpets in a pile on the balcony, 8) electric cords falling from the walls and ceiling, 9) kitchen apparel is below the minimum required, and... its dirty. Apart of this: the (old age) owner and receptionist demonstrates some hardship in: confirming that a booking is accepted/valid, keeping record of payments and check-out dates. This might become prone to trouble with customers that are not able to speak german... This place seems to be managed neglectefully and the first victim is cleanliness. Its relatively cheap, but this is no excuse for lack of cleaning. Unless you've no alternative due to all Vienna hotels being fully booked (it was my case), you'll find a better place for sure.
