Villa Solitude

Maybe we should have given 5 stars for the entertainment value. We chose this hotel restaurant one night our own hotel had closed for serving. We felt lucky to get a table even though we got in directly from the street and the terrace was almost full. However, the two servants who were present that evening had extremely poor communication, tending to the comic. When we asked the young waiter about something, he reluctantly referred us to the older colleague, whether we could get a table, order or pay. But every time we had to make ourselves the inconvenience to get her... He obviously didn't dare. He seemed slightly tired of his job and apparently served only drinks. The elderly and experienced servant did what she could to serve all tables with kindness and efficiency, but could not be everywhere. It also resulted in people leaving the place without receiving serving. It all looked from our corner of the restaurant pretty inefficient. Maybe she should have taught her colleague a little better and motivated him to take responsibility...? Regarding the food, we got a small serving from the kitchen for a start. It was good we had got drinks, because the bread served with a little charge was very dry. Maybe that's how it should be. The Wienerschnitzlen (of calf) that was then served was well enough sandwiched, but this is the first time we have more panering than meat on a wienerschnitzel. The meat was simply paper thin. The potatoes were decent, while the subsequent chocolate cake did not taste much. If nothing else, we will remember this meal and at least the scene around it in the future. The price definitely did not reflect the quality this evening,

The hotel is a gem in the middle of Gastein. We were moment of reservation until departure very satisfied with everything. This. Staff are courteous, very polite and nice. The kitchen has earned a hood. A compliment to the owner! We'll be back Anita and Herbert

Very nice restaurant with a great view. We were only yesterday at the restaurant and had a seat on the beautiful viewing terrace. Of course, the prices are a bit upscale, that's what makes the great place. We ate wonderfully and were served friendly. Inside is also a very nice wine shop. Had we stayed longer we would go back
