Phew, we were here for one night while passing through - for that it was okay. The beds were comfortable and clean. Everything else borders on a fever dream. $5 for Wi-Fi (only one code for one device), ultra-loud and bad music right under our balcony, the bathroom door (or handle) wouldn't open from the inside?? Luckily there were 2 of us, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to get out of the bathroom!! The lobby and the stairwell smell unpleasant and everything is cluttered with cheap toys - totally overloaded and kitschy. Everything costs extra; after the bad reviews, we didn't eat or have breakfast there either. The lady at the front desk seemed totally annoyed. We will not be coming back.

When we arrived at the hotel, no booking could be found; only after a long back-and-forth did the employee at the reception inform us that the hotel is fully booked and he has no room available for us. He told us that we should go to another hotel for one night and then could spend the remaining two nights at the Berghof. Due to the short duration of the stay, we immediately declined this offer and informed the employee that we would like to spend our three nights at the Berghof, just as we had booked; we were greeted with the sentence, "Unfortunately, we are full." I also asked the employee where the outdoor pool (as stated in the hotel information) is. He then talked in circles and then announced that it would not arrive until July 1st. When I asked what that was supposed to mean, I was told that it was an inflatable plastic pool. It was also immediately stated that one must also pay an entrance fee to use this "plastic pool." Arrival 06/23/2026 booked on 01/16/2026!! (furthermore, we had to register our arrival 7 days in advance) We were offered an "upgrade" for an additional charge of 50 euros per day, which we declined. Finally, we were taken to the "apartment." (We had to go to the apartment ourselves) First, we had to air it out thoroughly because it smelled like stale air. The armchair was broken, the light in the refrigerator was also defective, and the toilet seat was hanging down. The senior manager, who first posed as a caretaker, greeted us regarding our parking with the words, "Well, you should use your heads a little." (even though it was just a matter of turning the car around). The staff does not speak German (when ordering, the waiter said "English please," and when a family next to us spilled something, the floor was still not cleaned the next day). Dinner was a nightmare, and when the "salad buffet" ran out, nothing was replenished. A 0.3-liter glass of water costs €3.90!! And a large 0.5-liter beer for a whopping €9. The playground is just junk and costs €15 per child and €15 each for the accompanying adult. (Family with 4 children €60!!). At breakfast, I ordered 4 fried eggs, but they never arrived. The waitress said yes, but she must not have understood me. (or she didn't care, or doesn't care, what the customer wants). The playground doesn't really offer much besides a few huts and a pond. The "outdoor pool" turned out to be an inflatable kiddie pool, nothing more!! The wellness area costs an extra € 45 per person. (Even a tour of the wellness area would have cost EUR 45.) After a conversation at checkout with the "junior manager," everything was clear to us. No insight, and we should just not come back if it doesn't suit us. Don't worry, we certainly won't!! The senior manager also said that if the water is too expensive, then we should go to the restroom and drink there. In this hotel, everything is charged extra; the Wi-Fi costs EUR 5 per day and per person; in times like these, that is pure money-grabbing. The waiters in the restaurant are unprofessional in terms of their skills and their attire. They have no manners (please and thank you are foreign words to them) and are in no way recognizable as waiters. One waiter looked like a bouncer at a run-down bar. The voucher (SST Touristik) lists services that no one has any idea about (farewell gift); you have to ask for it, then no one knows anything, and only after you say that you would like the farewell gift is it handed over.

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago, and it was really nice. Unfortunately, the situation is now somewhat different: At check-in time, the room was not ready for occupancy, so we first went on our hike. In the evening, then the "surprise" - the floor was covered in dirt and not cleaned at all, the hygiene products in the bathroom were not replenished, the water in the bathtub/shower did not drain, and the mattress covered with a stained sheet was completely outdated and sagging, making even one night a burden. The dinner was edible - but nothing more. The salad buffet was almost completely empty at 7:15 PM (dinner time until 8:30 PM) and was not replenished. A non-alcoholic drink costs 7-8 €, which I find completely overpriced. The breakfast buffet was very limited (only 2 types of cold cuts and cheese?!?); the egg dishes were unfortunately all cold, as the warming containers were not turned on; juices were not replenished. The service staff clearly have no joy in their job, which is felt by the guests. The accounting department also seems to be a complete disaster. We paid with a credit card when booking. At check-in, we were told that the charge had not yet been made and that we would now have to pay on-site with a debit card. At check-out, no one knew whether the tourist tax was already included in the price. All in all, I must unfortunately say that I was glad to be gone and would never come back!
