Eckartauerhof

An extremely, well-maintained 3 star hotel, better than many 4 star hotels we have previously stayed in, in Austrian ski resorts. Immaculately clean, decorated in a traditional Austrian/Tirol style. A family business with all the staff being very helpful and accommodating (opened up breakfast early for us as we had a an early morning flight.) Location is a little out of the main centre so if you miss the last ski bus (which was very early compared to other ski resorts at 5.15pm) you will need to make use of uber (which was readily available) . The bus stop for the ski bus was however, immediately outside the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style, a lovely selection of breads, cereals, fruits, bacon, scrambled eggs, cold meats and cheese. We did miss the fact that there were no pastries!!! Evening meal was a set 4 course, with a starter, soup, main dish and then dessert. All served in a very cosy, inviting dining area, with beautiful views of the mountains. There was always a fish/meat choice but you may have struggled if you were vegetarian as I don’t think there was always a veggie option each night. The presentation of the food was again really lovely and the style of food was I would say was based on traditional Austrian with a modern twist. Just a quick opinion about Mayrhofen the town, this is our 4th time skiing in Austria and this was by far our most favourite town (with Kaprun being a close second). It had a lovely mix of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. A really pretty town, with a lot of traditional Austrian alpine architecture.

Quiet hotel with simply furnished but comfortable rooms. The whole hotel is immaculately clean, the restaurant and bar look like they have been refurbished recently. Ski bus stops outside. Ski boot room is spacious and well equipped. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Good breakfast buffet and very good 5 course evening meal (salad, starter, soup, main course and dessert). It's a pleasant 20 minute walk into Mayrhofen if your having a day off from skiing. Would definitely stay again.

We have just returned from our skiing holiday in Austria. We stayed at the Eckartauer Hof and just wanted to say thank you for a great stay, the friendly staff and also that we were looked after well with our dietary requirements. We needed to eat gluten-free and had a choice of at least 1-2 options every night. The hotel is conveniently located between the major gondolas and the bus stop is literally outside the hotel. The ski bus is free and takes you to the gondolas within 10-15min. You can store your skiing equipment free of charge in the cellar. Would definitely recommend to stay here. Thank you!
