A beautiful wellness hotel (adults only) located not far from Lake Achensee. Very quiet location. Top wellness facility with a sky pool (indoor and outdoor), sky sauna, and two wonderful swimming ponds. Additional saunas can be found in the sauna village. To relax, you can retreat to the quiet alpine hut or choose one of the countless other lounging options (indoor & outdoor). The hotel also offers a large selection of wellness and cosmetic treatments. A rich breakfast with fresh egg dishes, an afternoon snack, and a wonderful dinner in the evening make the stay perfect. Adi Rieser and his team do everything to ensure you can enjoy a wonderful vacation. Warm hospitality is lived out, and you feel welcome and appreciated. Definitely book the candlelight dinner with wine pairing (in the beautiful wine cellar) and participate in the wine tasting with Simon. It is worth it.

Hotel in general very nice. We had to change rooms. The 1st room was very nice. With a small canopy bed. Unfortunately, the mattress was very hard. The next day, a new room... we received a mattress topper. Then sleeping was fine too. The 2nd room was not as nice as the one the day before... more old style. The bathroom, however, had been renovated. Food: everything was there. It was very delicious. There is nothing to complain about. Bar: cozy and very friendly staff! Wellness: the new building is wonderful! Very nice pool Many quiet rooms and various saunas We will come back.

We enjoyed our stay very much overall. The hotel is particularly impressive with its excellent spa area, friendly staff, and outstanding cuisine. Nevertheless, there are some points that could be improved from our perspective – especially if the hotel positions itself as a hiking hotel. Positive: * Warm welcome by the manager. * Very friendly staff, especially Patrick in the restaurant, who made the stay pleasant. * Outstanding culinary offerings with varied evening menus, themed evenings, and an ice cream buffet. * Nice afternoon snack with light refreshments and cake. * Spacious spa area with several pools, swimming ponds, saunas, and good infusions. * Very good hiking guide Thomas with interesting guided tours. * Yoga, meditation, and wellness offerings. * Pleasant evening entertainment (especially the harp music during dinner). * Very clean rooms. The cuddle suite with a starry sky above the bed is a nice detail. * Free choice of tables in the restaurant on the first day. Room for improvement: * For a hiking hotel, the guest turnover in the high season is unusually high. Many guests only stay for two to three nights, which creates more of an impression of a spa and short-stay hotel. * The hiking program repeats regularly. Those who stay longer than a week or return find hardly any new tours. * The breakfast at the alpine pasture did not meet our expectations. Instead of regional specialties, there was mostly packaged sausage and jam, no yogurt or milk, and only sliced cheese. A typical Tyrolean snack with bacon and cheese would have fit the concept better. * In the restaurant, drink bills must be signed constantly, and tips are also frequently pointed out. That becomes a bit annoying over time. * The closet was rather small for a longer stay, and the upper storage shelves were barely visible. * Unfortunately, there was some smoking in the pool, wellness, and sauna area. * After more than a week, individual dishes repeat. * The Kaiserschmarrn offered in the afternoon could not keep up with the otherwise excellent cuisine. * We also found it a shame that no regional Achensee beer was offered. * In some cases, the dishes already looked clearly worn and could be replaced. We felt the wine prices were quite high. The available e-bikes were indeed available, but did not seem optimally maintained and were handed out without instruction. We also found it a bit of a shame that the manager personally said goodbye to regular guests—even after only two to three days of staying—with a bottle of wine, while guests on a longer first stay did not receive this attention. Conclusion: The Kristall is an excellent wellness and gourmet hotel with very good service, outstanding cuisine, and a beautiful spa area. Those looking primarily for relaxation, culinary delights, and wellness will feel very comfortable here. As a classic hiking hotel, however, we still see potential for improvement—especially regarding regionality, the hiking offerings for longer stays, and some organizational details. Overall, we had a very nice vacation and would recommend the hotel, but we wish that the character as a hiking hotel would be lived out even more strongly in the future.
